Kristie Trousdale, MPH is the Deputy Director of the Children’s Environmental Health Network (CEHN), where she provides strategic leadership and development. She directs the Network’s science translation and education portfolio and policy and advocacy program. Ms. Trousdale has over fifteen years of experience developing curriculum and other educational resources for CEHN’s initiatives including the Eco-Healthy Child Care® program, and served as Co-Editor of “Putting it into Practice” a pediatric environmental health training resource for health care faculty. Ms. Trousdale leads the National Coordinating Center for the Collaborative Centers in Children’s Environmental Health Research & Translation, a program of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. She served as a member of the Children’s Health Protection Advisory Committee to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, is Co-chair of the Children’s Environmental Health Committee of the American Public Health Association, and serves on steering committees for multiple environmental health related collaboratives.
Prior to joining CEHN, Ms. Trousdale facilitated conservation efforts in Hawaii. Concern for the environment and an interest in pediatric health led to research on relationships between hazardous air pollutants and pediatric neurodevelopmental disorders. She has co-authored publications on epigenetics and pediatric environmental health, climate change advocacy for pediatric clinicians, and environmental hazards in school settings and in residential facilities for persons with developmental or intellectual disabilities. Ms. Trousdale is passionate about protecting the health of our planet and its people, especially those most marginalized.
