Get Endorsed

Why Get Endorsed?

Eco-Healthy Child Care® (EHCC) endorsed providers are taking a strong stand for children’s health and well-being! Safeguarding our youngest from harmful environmental hazards is paramount. With children spending hours each day in child care, creating safer, healthier settings is vital.

Make a Change

Luckily, there are simple, free and low-cost steps you can take to create a brighter future for the kids you care for. EHCC has compiled these into an easy to use checklist, developed  an engaging e-learning course to train providers (Continuing Education Units (CEU) available in all states), and offers technical assistance for endorsed providers.

Market Differentiation

In an increasingly competitive market, getting endorsed by an established and trusted program like Eco-Healthy Child Care® clearly communicates high-quality care to parents, builds trust with current and potential families, and can make your business stand out from the crowd. Becoming EHCC endorsed is an easy answer to market differentiation!

What do Providers say?

What does it take to become endorsed?

Endorsement costs $25 or $50 (depending on the facility size). A $10 discount is offered for providers who renew before their current endorsement expires. EHCC endorsement lasts for two years.

E-Learning Course

One staff member from the child care facility must successfully complete the Protecting Children’s Environmental Health E-Course. The e-course costs $30 to complete, and is offered in English and Spanish on the ProSolutions platform. It is approved for adult learning clock hours in all states, including Washington D.C., Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Child care facilities that are submitting a renewal endorsement application must also meet this requirement. Renewal applicants are encouraged to have a different staff person take the e-course to increase eco-healthy awareness across your child care team.

Eco-Healthy Child Care® Endorsement Checklist & Application

The application consists of a checklist of science-based, eco-healthy best practices in eleven content categories vital to protecting children from preventable environmental health hazards. Providers are strongly encouraged to submit the application and fees online.

If you would prefer to mail your application, please submit endorsement forms via mail, by downloading a checklist and mailing the completed forms and payment to: CEHN/EHCC, 110 Maryland Avenue NE, Suite 404, Washington, D.C. 20002.

Virtual Technical Assistance

All child care providers are eligible for Virtual Technical Assistance sessions. These are free conversations with an EHCC staffer, intended to help providers in their journey to become more conscientious about identifying and reducing exposures to chemicals and heavy metals.
